ALIGNED Insurance believes that it is a privilege to handle our clients insurance needs and that it is our corporate social responsibility to give generously and regularly to support the great work charitable and not profits organizations do every day across Canada.
As part of our commitment to give regularly, every month an ALIGNED Advocate selects a Canadian charity of their choice and ALIGNED makes a donation to that organization on their behalf. In recognition of the great work they do Andrew Clark selected Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis for the month of February, 2016.
About Women in Crisis and Their Efforts Towards Working to End Violence Against Women and Children
Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis is a feminist community-based organization providing services to women and their children on woman abuse and sexual violence.
They have a number of programs including:
- Marianne’s Place (shelter)
- Transitional and Housing Support Program (THSP)
- Family Court Support Program (FCSP)
- Rural Women’s Support Program (RWSP)
- Sexual Assault Centre (SAC)
- 24-hour Crisis Line
ALIGNED Also Walks the Purple Carpet In Support of Women In Crisis
On April 23rd, Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis held their annual Purple Carpet Gala. Both Darlene Alves and Darcy Franko-Felice attended the event that was filled with food, drinks, live music and a silent auction in order to raise money for the organization.
“It was wonderful to see communities come together to raise money for a cause that is so important and affects many women and children daily. It’s amazing what one night of giving can accomplish!” Shares Darlene Alves, Assistant Advocate who works out of the National Operations Centre in Waterloo.
